Founders and Patrons commitments.
Co-Founders Gordon Minott, Allan Oberholzer and Patrons, John Paul and Eloise DeJoria, Charlie Stuart Gay and their many associates are strategic key members of Food4Africa. 2023 marks twenty years of dedicated contribution in which the charity has distributed over “sixty million” nutritional meals throughout South Africa and neighboring countries.
In the past, John Paul DeJoria, Gordon, Allan, and Charlie combined efforts to assist two non-affiliated charities. In the early 2000 Nelson Mandela, being a staunch advocate of the plight to rid the world of landmines, Sir Richard Branson and his airship partners had developed a groundbreaking landmine detecting technology. A meeting was held at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg with Nelson Mandela, Sir Richard Branson, John Paul DeJoria and actor Brad Pitt in attendance.
With Mr. Mandella and his co patron wife, Graca Machel’s assistance, the group traveled to Mozambique, conducted landmine field trips and setup a large gathering of landmine victims who were fitted with new, state-of the art prosthetic legs donated by John Paul DeJoria and his companies.
To date, the technology has been introduced into the private sector and is currently being utilized to detect landmines across the word.
At the same time with the support of “Feed The Children” we were able to facilitate a large food meal donation to renowned care giver Heidi Baker and the country of Mozambique following floods and the cyclone crisis.
